What can I do to maintain the Hot Tub myself and how often do I have to do it?

HOT TUB START-UP

CLARIFIER - 1 capful
SUPER SOFT - 2 capfuls
STAIN & SCALE - 1½ capfuls
HOT TUB SANITIZER - ¼ to ½ capfuls add more if required

Fill dispenser with tablets (Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine), set dispenser level to 3, adjust up or down depending on how often the hot tub is used.

AFTER EACH USE

Test water if Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine level is low add Spa Sanitizer (¼ to ½ capful) & retest. If a large amount of bathers were using hot tub -- shock with Super Oxidizer- see EVERY WEEK for details.

EVERY 2 to 3 DAYS

Check Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine level by using Test Kit or Test Strips

Always ensure synergy, chlorine or bromine reading is acceptable before adjusting pH Adjust setting on floating dispenser up or down as necessary - this will depend on usage. If Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine reading is too low - instantly boost by using Spa Sanitizer (for Synergy or Chlorine or Bromine) (¼ - ½ capful) or Bromine Concentrate (for Bromine) (½ - 1 capful), turn on jets for 5 minutes and retest the water.

If Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine reading is too high -- either add water, remove dispenser and/or use hot tub (if extremely high it is not recommended to use the hot tub until the level drops as you could get rash from the chemical)

Check filter(s) - clean or change as required. Always turn off power to hot tub prior to removing filter(s). Be sure to clean in folds. Give the filter a good rinsing with a hose at least once a week.

Check pH level and adjust if necessary

Do not adjust pH level if Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine level is too high or low, correct the level first then retest. Use pH Up or pH Down accordingly (1 capful or less at a time)

NOTE: Always turn on jets when adding chemicals to the hot tub. Air flow may need to be turned off via the small diverters if foaming occurs but leave jets on. Test the water after each use and adjust levels as required. For a quick boost add Spa Sanitizer/Bromine Concentrate. Ensure dispenser is filled with pucks and put back into the hot tub.

EVERY WEEK

Shock hot tub with Super Oxidizer - use 2 capfuls - open cover of hot tub for a minimum of two hours as the chemical needs the air to work - not opening can cause damage to inside of cover.

Stain & Scale - add 1½ capfuls. Clarity - add 1 capful, turn off air flow via the small diverters so foaming doesn't occur.

COMPLETE FILTER CLEANING - as required

Use One Step Filter Cleaner (1/3 bottle mixed w/water in pail large enough to entirely cover the filter - this pail of solution can be covered and reused again).

Soak the filters for 24 hours and rinse thoroughly.

*** Ensure the filter is rinsed thoroughly and allow to air dry - filters can be rinsed in the dishwasher (top rack) on the rinse cycle only to remove extra suds, do not put through dry cycle. A power washer can also be used to rinse the filter - be careful not to put too much pressure on the filter.

Note: When cleaning the filter ensure the power is turned off. It is a good idea to have two filters, while one is being cleaned the other can be used in the hot tub.

EVERY 10 - 12 WEEKS

Drain water from hot tub shut off at breaker attach hose to hose bib located next to Spa Pack - gravity drain.

***Do not have motor operating always turn off breaker.

When hot tub is empty, sponge or mop out remaining water in the foot well and wipe out hot tub with Surface Cleaner - rinsing is not necessary because cleaner is a low sudsing product. Change filters if necessary - fill hot tub with clean water. Never use HOT water - warm water is ok.*** Do not restart hot tub until water level is at lease half way up the skimmer. Add same chemicals as you would for a Start-up (see previous page) Fill floating dispenser with synergy, chlorine or bromine tablets and place in hot tub.

MISCELLANEOUS

Clarity - if tub appears cloudy add 1 capful of Clarifier. If tub continues to cloud, it's a possible indication that the sanitizer or pH are off, otherwise a water change is likely needed.

Chlor Out - used to neutralize the Synergy, Chlorine, or Bromine in the water, great to use when emptying out hot tub - removes the chemical that harms the grass.

Synergy - same as Chlorine except it has Clarifier built right into tablets - recommended.

Defoamer - 1 capful to rid of suds.

Dispenser - fill completely w/tablets, set at approximately 3 - adjust accordingly.

Surface Cleaner - for cleaning hot tub surface when empty, removes oils and grease off surface.

Super Oxidizer (Shock) -- good for use after several people have used tub. Use 2 capfuls. Leave cover off for at least 2 hours. Restores water sparkle, cleans up oils/lotions/perfumes etc.

Super Soft - softens water, helps eliminate the smell of chemicals. Use 2 capfuls to start and then 1 capful at a time afterwards.

Swirl Away - cleans the pipes in the hot tub, use approx. every 4-6 months. Put in hot tub 1 hour on high jets prior to emptying. Turn off airflow via the small diverters so foaming doesn't occur

Spa Sanitizer - instantly boosts your Synergy, Chlorine or Bromine level in your hot tub
